Facebook is where you connect with new and old friends, but it’s very likely that you’ve also used Facebook to buy and sell things in a group in your local area. With more than 450 million people visiting buy and sell groups each month this is very popular, and Facebook has now launched their own Marketplace.
Marketplace is going global
Marketplace is introduced to help people connect in local communities, and to make it more convenient to discover, buy and sell items. This new feature already exists in six countries, including Australia and the UK, and in the following weeks the feature will expand to 17 countries in Europe.
Easy, convenient and helpful
By introducing Marketplace, Facebook makes it easier for buyers to sort, view and find just what they are looking for. At the same time it feels safe because everyone can easily view each other’s public profile.
Connect in local communities
The Marketplace feature is an interesting way for people to connect in local communities and help each other. Who knows, maybe your old couch is another person’s dream couch? At Spires United we support the idea of helping and connecting in local communities, and we’re excited to see the possibilities of this feature.
